Prayer Gathering at Protea Grounds with Bro. Mohan C Lazarus
The City-Wide Prayer event was a powerful gathering taking place from March 10th to 15th 2019 at the Protea Grounds Pietermaritzburg. The event features sessions led by renowned evangelist Mohan C. Lazarus from India, focusing on prayer, miracles, and deliverance. The prayer revival event, held at the Protea Grounds, proved to be a significant moment of spiritual and community transformation. Initially, attendance was around 5,000 per night, which increased to 6,000 by Friday, highlighting a growing interest and engagement within the community.
A notable impact of the event was observed by the Mountain Rise Police, who reported a decrease in crime rates during the event. This positive trend was reversed when the event concluded, with crime rates spiking again, demonstrating the tangible benefits of the prayer gathering on local safety and security.
The event was divinely inspired, with confirmation coming through a dream experienced by Sister Patty two years prior. The vision revealed that the venue for the prayer gathering would transition from Jacob’s Well Ministries at Truro Plaza to a prayer tent at Protea Grounds. This vision was realized, affirming the spiritual significance of the location change.
Pastors from Durban played a key role in hosting Bro. Mohan Lazarus, a renowned figure in prayer revival, and it was initially intended that he would visit Pietermaritzburg as part of the larger event. Pastor Paul Lutchman extended an invitation for Pietermaritzburg to host Mohan Lazarus first, recognizing the city’s role as the capital and its importance in the revival movement.
The partnership with Mi7 Nobin Karien was a tremendous blessing, providing essential support such as security, accommodation, transportation, and hot meals every evening. Their contribution greatly enhanced the event’s success and outreach.
Overall, the prayer revival event was a profound confirmation of God’s guidance and a powerful testament to the impact of collective prayer on community well-being.
